SAFECORE was appointed to replace an ageing fire alarm system across a four-storey commercial office in Sussex. The project required minimal disruption to daily operations while delivering a fully compliant addressable fire detection system with zone mapping, sounder coverage analysis, and integration with the building management system.

The challenge

The existing system was non-compliant and causing frequent false alarms. Works had to be phased floor-by-floor to keep the building operational throughout.

Our solution

We designed a phased installation programme with temporary coverage maintained at all times. The new addressable system was commissioned in stages, with full BS 5839 certification and staff training provided on completion.

Following a fire risk assessment, this Worthing care home required upgraded fire detection, improved sounder coverage in resident rooms, and new emergency escape lighting throughout corridors and stairwells.

The challenge

Works had to be completed with vulnerable residents on site, requiring quiet installation methods and out-of-hours working in sleeping areas.

Our solution

Wireless fire devices were used in resident areas to minimise disruption. Emergency lighting was upgraded to maintained LED fittings with monthly test scheduling built into the maintenance contract.
